Large buyers such as International Airlines and Hotel Chains, SATS, Fairprice, Sheng Siong, and others are requiring suppliers disclose their ESG performance. European buyers are required by law to declare ESG health of their suppliers (including Asian suppliers). On 6 July 2023, the Singapore Sustainability Reporting Advisory Committee has (“SRAC”) announced sustainability reporting for non -listed entities. Major banks in Singapore and globally have started reviewing loan facilities based on ESG health of borrowers.
In response to the above, Singapore Food Association Alliance (“SFAA”) shall be announcing a
slew of major initiatives in collaboration with various partners to better prepare SMEs from the
Food Manufacturing sector to embark on ESG starting with measuring carbon footprint of operations and ESG Reporting.

- The Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (“ACRA”) and Singapore Exchange Regulation (“SGX Regco”) have set up a Sustainability Reporting Advisory Committee (SRAC) to advise on a sustainability reporting roadmap for Singapore-incorporated companies, beyond SGX-listed companies; and to provide inputs on the suitability of international sustainability reporting standards for implementation in Singapore.
